Thailand–Lao PDR cooperate to push special economic zones as ASEAN center for trade and investment.
Thailand and Lao PDR push for special economic zones, and targeted to increase trade worth $ 8 billion over the next three years, using ASEAN as a global trade and investment hub. At the seminar “The Special Economic Zones of Thailand–Lao PDR: Trade, Investment and Tourism Opportunities”, General Chatchai Sarikalaya, Minister of Commerce revealed that between August 26-28, 2015 the Ministry of Commerce will lead the trade and investment delegation and producers of consumer products to travel to Vientiane capital city of Lao PDR, in which a large number of private sectors expressed keen interest to join.
