Generating more electricity in response to special economic zones
Mr.Twarath Sutabutr, Director General of Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO) said that at the National Energy Policy Committee meeting, in which the Prime Minister presided over, agreed in principle of Electricity Development Plan in order to support the establishment of special economic development zone Phase 1. It aims to provide sufficient electricity to meet the electricity demand in 6 border provinces, namely Mae Sot district of Tak province, where the average electricity demand is 7.84%, Muang Mukdahan district of Mukdahan province needs to increase to 8.66%, Muang District of Nongkhai province increased demand to 8.56%, Aranyaprathet district of Sa Kaeo province increased demand to 7.35%, Klong Yai district of Trat province increased demand to 9.93 %, and Sadao district of Song Khla province increased demand to 5.20%. According to the program, it will consist of delivery plan, distribution system and renewable energy development plan in the border areas.
